About the work
‘Not all of us can say, with any degree of certainty, that we have always been human, or that we are only that.’ – Rosi Bradiotti, The Posthuman
This drawing is part of a series which considers the construction of monstrosity as a means of upholding notions of the Human as always white, male, European, well-educated, and able-bodied. The works are an attempt to reclaim the monstrous as a potential site for joy/sexy times/aspiration/beauty.
