About the work
I wait at the lights and turn around to see if she is there, not hoping, but just wondering.
My home stride, the daily walk, not wanting to say, ‘I’m sorry’ or ‘no’.
I step up the pace and confront the blank rudeness I am sure is seen clearly on my face.
Time has been offered but left in suspension, there is too much ground to cover, people don’t stop.
