About the work
My practice revolves entirely around drawing. I have a personal language of images and repeating motifs running throughout my larger more indulgent works, and the smaller pieces such as these feed into that or provide respite.
I mark time with my drawings, they are like flags in the ground or messages in bottles for myself and for anyone else. Much of this year was spent working in a gas mask and playing games like solitaire while waiting for things to happen so that I could move forward, and I draw gradient wheels as an exercise of recalibration following periods of time away from drawing.
